A sun-soaked day in February is a rarity here in Washington but sometimes everything falls into place and works out exactly as it was always meant to be.
A reached out to me in September of 2021 to book a steamy session to celebrate her and L’s 10 year anniversary after seeing a friend’s steamy lake session I had previously photographed. I was already in, but once she sent me the link to the location, I honestly would have done it for free.
We unfortunately had to reschedule our original date, but it turned out to be a blessing since it was a gloomy day in October. But don’t worry friends, the story works out and the photos are dreamy as fuck with light leaks, beautiful shadows, and soft rainbows.
When the day finally arrived, I drove up to Bellingham and met A & L at a park and we rode to the Treehouse together since parking there is very limited. I always bring my steamy clients a gift basket of all their favorite snacks, bevvies, and little things that pop out to me about them. Nothing says, “I love you and I’m thankful for you” like a basket full of fancy beer and snacks.
So here we are, a beautifully crispy February day in a tiny little box with glass wall and a small deck on the edge of a cliff overlooking the water. Basically, a dream.
We had a limited amount of time to shoot and L’s nerves were palpable. While they do couples shoots pretty often, they have always been fully clothed. Thank goodness for those beers I brought! They eased up very quickly and got down to their skivvies to roll around in sun-soaked bliss with tons of laughter, kisses, and intimate moments.
This. This right here is my favorite. There’s a magic in intimate sessions that doesn’t happen with any other kind. Thank you A & L for trusting me to interpret your love in such a raw and vulnerable way. I’m forever grateful for my clients who become friends, who become family.
Whimsical and edgy portraits. Intimate couple sessions, and candid weddings for all kinds of lovers in Washington and beyond.
